Reviews
We had Tom help us with our needs here at Supercheap Auto Blacktown. Very helpful and researched our items to reassure us they were exactly what we were after. I never had a problem with this store. Great service here.
Helpful staff
Didn't have everything I needed in stock but they were more than willing to check where I could get it and provide alternative solutions
I came to the store at Richmond Road today, 24 Nov Friday and Vince helped me with the car phone mounts they sell. He was very helpful, responsive and knowledgeable. A brilliant employee.
Good range of products and easy parking but a few items out of stock in this store that I was after. Staff helpful with colour match paint.
I won't shop at Blacktown store ever again.
So I thought I better give a review for this shop. I've been buying from SCA for many years. Just moved to Blacktown and found the staff here a bit hit and miss. There are a couple of them that have very poor service. I recently had a battery fail that is under warranty. I have been dealing with the store I bought it from (Chatswood) who have been very helpful with the warranty but I was going to process the claim at Blacktown to save all the time and expense driving to chatswood from Blacktown.
The problem for me is both stores will want the battery for 6hrs + to test it. No problem with that except, I totally understand. Problem for me is I will not have a car to drive, how will I go to work? I live maybe 2 hrs walk from that shop in blacktown and they wanted the battery over night, was I to walk home and back to the store the next day taking that day off work?
I asked if I could buy the replacement battery and wait for them to test the faulty one then give me a store credit. They said no they can not do that. I would be wearing all the risk, it's a win win situation for them, they find the battery is NOT faulty I have now bought a new battery from them and keep my old one. They find the batter IS faulty and I've already got the replacement and they just give me a credit. Or a refund.
So all in all they are just very unhelpful and expect me to wait 6hrs while they test the faulty battery. I was already informed that there are known issues with this N70ZZLXHD battery.
To be honest, I think the problem is the store manager. As the front desk staff member was talking to the manager over their internal comms system she was the one telling them No No No No No, I could hear her through the front desk staffs ear piece. Would suggest the organisation put her through some customer service training or get rid of her. She's going to lose the company business, I won't shop at that store again.
1 star is too much credit for SCA BLACKTOWN.
So like all the other terrible reviews on here, it’s all about the people at SCA. People that can’t be bothered doing a job they get paid to do. At least have some pride in yourself to take on a job and own it, try your best to be good at it. I feel like this needs to be said, first and foremost.
I bought a battery at SCA in July, by October it died. All good.. called them and was told they would need to keep it for 4 days. I thought that was excessive and asked why, I was then told that, that’s their policy with batteries and that was that. I then explained to the manager that I don’t have a second car, the battery was tested by a battery specialist who told me it wasn’t my alternator it was 100% the battery. She said it’s just an amount of days they give customers just in case and it probably wouldn’t take that long.
So with no other choice, I took the battery back to SCA the following Friday. As always when there, I was greeted with the traditional greeting of “I can’t be bothered being here” attitude. Told the young guy the situation, and he explained the same thing as the manager. All good. I told him what the manager told me over the phone, and he didn’t seem to understand. So I asked for the manager, “oh she’s in a meeting”. Great. So I tell him that’s what she told me. While having this conversation, a shorter older lady approached. As she did she overheard me telling the young guy that, I’ll call on Sunday and see how the “testing” is going. She then barks at me “NO, we’ll call you!” Confused as to why she is now joining this conversation, I tell her no, I’ll call when I want, and walk out.
I sort out another car for the Monday so decide to not call and leave ot for them to call me. Thursday, still no call so I call. Girl on the phone says oh yeh, the battery is dead and it will be covered under warranty. I ask when this information became apprentice to them to which she replied don’t know, it just says the battery is dead, so you can pick it up today, ok? Thanks bye. All her, didn’t even get a chance to reply.
Today, I go to pick up my battery replacement. Greeted with traditions so I know I’m at the right place. She’s fiddling around with keys that are obviously too important to look up from, and more important than a customer. I tell her I need to pick up my replacement battery. Still looking at the keys, “when did you drop it off?” I tell her 13 October. She says with no positivity “oh that’s a long time ago” I say 3 weeks and it’s the only time I could get here. Still looking at the keys, she turns around and disappears through the back doors. A moment later she comes out carrying a battery, she’s clearly having trouble. I offer to take it from her and she ignores me and keeps waddling along trying to carry the battery. She doesn’t say anything. No come to the front counter no follow me. Just walks. So clearly it’s my battery, so I follow. She puts it on the counter speaks to the girl at the counter, and proceeds to walk off. I stop her and say does the warranty go for another 12 months just to make sure. She says yes and walks off to give sub par customer service to someone else.
Over all, the customer service from manager to people on the floor is terrible, and that is putting it nicely. The products are cheap as the name suggests, and are of low quality. Also bought windscreen wipers that feel like plastic across the windscreen rather than rubber.
All I can do is be grateful that I know this now and will never return. Hopefully anyone that reads this and other terrible reviews will steer well clear of this group.
And for the SCA corporates and people in charge. You have failed these kids and people you hire, by not training them properly and holding them to a better standard. As a manger myself, I would be appalled if my team had so many bad reviews, and it would be of the utmost importance to rectify the situation before getting worse. The culture you create today will come back tenfold in the future. Good or bad.
I get that it's the end of the year, but the website and the sign out front of the store said open at 8:30 am.
We got there at 8:45 and it was closed, there were about 10 or so unhappy customers out the front waiting too, please correct your times.
Great service, friendly staff, good prices. I highly recommend
Paint section is useless in Black town. Go to Great Western Highway in Wentworhville - worth the drive for great service
